🎯 Finishing Drills

Work on one-touch finishing to improve speed in front of goal, and combine it with control and shoot exercises to build composure. Practice using both the inside of your foot for accuracy and your laces for power, especially from close range where quick decisions matter.

Develop movement by checking away from defenders before receiving the ball and making near post and far post runs. Add curved runs to stay onside and improve timing, and include rebound finishing to react quickly to second chances.

Train under pressure by practicing 1v1 situations against the goalkeeper, finishing while being chased by a defender, and shooting from tight angles. First-time finishing and limited-time shooting drills will help simulate real match intensity.

Include finishing from crosses, cut-backs, volleys, and half-volleys to become more versatile in the box. Simple tap-ins are just as important and should not be overlooked.

Bring everything together with small-sided games focused on shooting, counter-attack finishing, weak foot practice, and quick-fire or random finishing drills that replicate unpredictable match scenarios.

Finally, apply these skills in realistic scenarios by defending counter-attacks, making recovery runs, performing last-ditch tackles, and transitioning quickly from attack to defense. Small-sided games with a defensive focus help bring everything together.
